Sar Pass, although a moderate trek, maybe a perfect one for beginners. The trek starts from 1,650 meters and raises to an altitude of 4,180 meters. Although the climb is tiring at some moments one gets rewarded by beautiful green meadows, quaint villages, views of snow-covered mountains, and therefore the amazing slide after the pass. This trail offers a gamut of experiences to trekkers. The trek demands A level of fitness and therefore the minimum age is 14 years to participate.

Itinerary: Sar Pass Trek

Day 1: Reaching Kasol Base Camp | 5,300 feet | 2 hours.

Participants should report at Kailashrath Treks Kasol Base Camp by 10 AM. Once all the participants have reported at base camp they're going to undergo a registration procedure [all the participants are going to be requested to verify their Medical certificate and ID proof]. Post lunch acclimatization walks to Chalal village. within the evening, a quick session is going to be conducted regarding the route and few important tips. Items like Rucksack, gaiters, and sticks are going to be allotted. Overnight occupy Kasol base camp.


Day 2: Trek to Grahan village | 7,800 feet | 5 hours.

Trek will commence at 7 am from Kasol to Grahan. The trek starts from the middle of Kasol and keeps to the true left of the Grahan nalah. The trail is straightforward and regularly employed by locals. The trail goes through lovely pine forests. The ascend is gentle and straightforward. One can effortlessly cover much distance during a few hours. After Grahan nalah the trail becomes rocky and climbs uphill, faraway from the proper bank of the river. Buras (Rhododendrons) grows within the forest here. After a steep climb of about an hour, one reaches the village of Grahan, situated at the highest. Overnight stay in tents at Grahan.


Day 3: Grahan to Min Thach | 11,100 feet | 5 hours.

In the morning we climb towards the north of the campsite at Grahan. Villagers are often seen using this path for Min Thach. After walking for a short time, one can see Min Thach, Nagaru, and Sar Top on the mountain to the proper. The trail also becomes steeper and leads into the woods. The slope becomes steeper and therefore the path is confusing at some places with only one water source en route. After crossing the forest the camp of Min Thach comes. Overnight in tents at Min Thach.


Day 4: Min Thach to Nagaru | 12,450 feet | 5 hours.

Trek from Min Thach to Nagaru is brief but moderate. The trek starts with a gradual climb for Nagaru camp from Min Thach. After an hour trek, the views start getting clear together start approaching the timberline. The route hardly has any water source available so confirm that you simply have your reserves ready. It takes around 4 hours to succeed in the camp of Nagaru at 3,900 meters. Facing north from Nagaru, one can see magnificent mountains across the Parvati valley. The night is extremely cold thanks to the chilling wind here and it’s advisable to sleep early because the next day involves an early start for the pass.


Day 5: Nagaru to Biskeri Thach via Sar Pass | 13,850 feet | 9 hours

The next day we make an early start by 4 AM because the climb for the pass is steep. The route from Nagaru to Biskeri remains totally covered with snow even within the summers due to the altitude. Once at the pass the elevated peaks of the Tosh valley appear. Water sources remain frozen within the morning and become available after 8 AM from the stream on the way to the pass.

The descent from the pass to the opposite side involves one of the longest snow slides. It takes one as far as a kilometer to a gentler slope of the valley. Valley arrives after walking for an hour from Sar Pass. we'll then continue the trek through some dense rhododendron bushes towards the Biskeri Thach campsite. Overnight stay in tents at Biskeri Thach.



Day 6: Biskeri Thach to Barshaini and drive back to Kasol base camp and Departure. | 7,200 feet | 5 hours

Biskeri presents a sublime view of the pine forests, the majestic mountains, and therefore the lovely grasslands. From Biskeri we'll descend towards Pulga village. The descent is straightforward and takes around 5 hours to succeed in Pulga. From Pulga we'll still descend to cross the Parvati river to succeed in village Barshaini. Jeep ride to Kasol base camp. Participants can take departure by 5 PM from Kasol base camp.

  • Backpack & rain cover - (50 - 60 ltr) with comfortable shoulder straps
  • Day pack + rain cover - 20 - 30 ltr (If hire a mule or porter)
  • Walking stick - Advisable (At least one)
  • Head torch - 1 Nos.
  • Water bottle/Hydration pack - 2 bottles of one liter each, People who use a hydration pack, 1 hydration pack and 1 bottle of one liter, Carry at least one thermos flask
  • Lunch box and water bottle: Every participant should have their personal lunch box a good water bottle [insulated type recommended].
  • Snacks - Energy bars, dry fruits, electral/ors
